Until now I’ve felt like a contestant at the final stage of the Crystal Maze. : P

I know what you mean about the world rushing by – it’s very easy to feel like that with Twitter, especially if you follow lots of people or they tweet a lot.

The way I use Twitter is to dip in and out throughout the day and don’t worry about reading everything. A bit like switching on the news to see what is happening.

The thing I’d advise is to keep an eye on any tweets directed at you specifically – anything with an @ symbol before your Twitter name. You can do this in the @Replies section on the right of your profile page on Twitter.com or on any of the 3rd party Twitter apps.

It’s always nice to be able to respond to these personal messages, it’s what makes twitter social.

I was reluctant to join because I hate the sensation of the world rushing by – and frankly that’s a sensation I’m already experiencing.
